Healthy is the new Beautiful!

Hello Divas!

This is the beginning of a beautiful new friendship between you and your new healthy body! As women we spend more time focused on the scale, how we look in our clothes, and the latest make-up trend. Seldom do we pay attention to the acidity of our bodies, how much fiber we’re getting or if we’re overloading our bodies with sodium, preservatives and other health altering chemicals now so common in our foods. I for one have been guilty of this philosophy that if I’m thin, than I’m healthy. This is far from the truth! And many popular diets on the market are setting people up to focus on one or more category of foods while neglecting others. This is not a whole foods approach. It leads to deficiencies of important nutrients that will show up in myriads of illnesses, some as simple as acne, cysts and much more serious conditions like cancer. Nothing breaks my heart more than learning of a 25 year old in the prime of her young life diagnosed with colon cancer.

Most young women think nothing of eating fast food multiple times a week, and living on processed nutrient void food. Just in case you don’t know what processed food is (and there are those who honestly don’t know), anything that has already been prepared for you and all you have to do is heat it up,  is processed. These foods that can sit in your freezer or in your pantry for years at a time, are void of enzymes,  fiber, vitamins and minerals, and other important nutrients that your body needs to function. Divas, if you want to be beautiful, vibrant and full of energy, you cannot live off of soda, low-fat low-calorie frozen pasta dinners, and fast-food. Start drinking water, plain water! Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, and prepare your own meals!

    I absolutely love your blog! I’m the first to admit, (oops you are the first so I’m the second) sweets bring out the beast in me! Fortunately I’ve realized that fruits can really tamed this Beast so now here comes Beauty – from within!
