Healthy-Divas TV: It’s a wrap!

I just got back from Los Angeles (ok, technically it’s been a week!) shooting the first six episodes of our new Healthy-Divas web series. Can I just say that it was the best 48 hours I’ve spent in a long time! My beauty guru diva Cherelynn Baker and I flew into Burbank airport last Monday night and joined the four other awesome healthy-divas for a quick production meeting.  Then we were off and running!

Early morning at Venice Beach

Early morning at Venice Beach

Tuesday morning’s call was early, but not too early that we couldn’t take in a quick peek of the beach from our roof top patio. If only I could wake up to that view every morning!

We were off to Kreations Juicery in Venice to shoot our first episode. One thing I love about Los Angeles is the multitudes of healthy eating establishments, particularly juice bars. And I have to say that Kreations has become one of my favorites. They have so many juices it was hard to choose just one!

IMG_3846Most of us chose a variation of vegetable juices while others were more exotic ordering homemade Kombucha. The smoothies were so good some of the girls had multiple smoothies (The Chocolate lovers is worth a repeat!), and I took one to go.

Next up was an amazing workout with resident Fitness diva Jennifer. As much as I don’t like exercise, this to me was the highlight of the entire trip! It was clear blue skies and an  amazing 79 degrees in January at Venice beach. We laughed, sweated, whined, and worked that body!

Dinner at Sage

To top off the perfect day, we had the perfect meal at Sage Vegan Bistro in Culver City. Can you say Yum, like 50 times? On the web site it’s referred to as decadently healthy and I would have to agree. I ordered the Butternut squash with pesto sauce over sauted kale.  It was a symphony of sweet and savory. I have not stopped talking about the restaurant since I ate there! And you don’t have to be Vegan to like this restaurant, in fact according to co-owner Mollie Englehart their mission is to appeal to all, not just plant eaters. Mission accomplished!

Day two meant leaving our awesome suite at the beach to head for Hollywood. Taliah’s shabby chic cottage was the perfect back drop for shooting our more intimate episodes.

48 hours was enough to get the job done, but we were not ready to say good-bye!  I believe in movie magic, and I know for a fact that the six of us Divas created some! Don’t forget to check back in a month or so to view the first episodes of Healthy-Divas TV!

XOXO,

Chante
