Welcome to my smoothie page. Many of these recipes you may have seen me make at a Vitamix demo, others are favorites I like to make at home. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

“Holiday Pumpkin Smoothie”

My favorite thing about November besides my birthday is that a beautiful rotund orange vegetable takes over the coffee shops, and all my favorite culinary haunts. That’s right the pumpkin is back, in all it’s delicious glory! This recipe is one of my favorite breakfast treats. It has lots of ¬†beta-carotene, vitamins A, C, E and K, and of course fiber. This is a great way to get vegetables for breakfast. This smoothie tastes like you’re having pie for breakfast! It’s so delicious, you’ll forget how healthy it is!

  • 1 cup of milk (almond, coconut, etc)
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup of pureed pumpkin (you may use canned)
  • handful of almonds or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp of nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp of ginger
  • ice
  • honey or agave to taste (optional)

Blend all together until smooth. Pour and enjoy!

“Kale Mocha Awesomeness”

Are you a coffee drinker? Spend so much time at Starbucks you finally bought stock? Then this “green” coffee delight will get you raring to go! I call this drink “redeeming” the coffee. Nothing like a salad to go with that frosty cup o’ Joe.

  • 1 cup of vanilla coffee creamer (I prefer coconut creamer)
  • 4 tbl of sweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coffee or whole coffee beans
  • 1 small tomato
  • handful of baby carrots
  • 1 handful of cut Kale
  • squeezed of Chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup of ice
Combine all ingredients in a high powered blender (preferebly a Vitamix!) and pour!

Chocolate Shake (Or my version of a Wendy’s Frosty!) ¬†Chocolate shake

I have sold many a Vitamix blender making this shake for the crowd. If you have picky eaters at home and need a sneaky recipe to get more veggies in them, this is a sure fire winner!
  • 1 cup of vanilla coconut creamer
  • 1 scoop of your favorite healthy sweetened cocoa mix
  • 1/4 of an avocado
  • 1 roma tomato
  • handful of baby carrots
  • 1 cup of spinach or kale
  • 1 good squeeze of chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup or more of ice

Blend together. This makes a thick creamy frosty consistency. The chocolate hides the taste of all the vegetables. They will never know!

“Blueberry Morning Madness”

I discovered a great little juice shop in Pasadena called “Juice Farm” while visiting colleges with my daughter. I fell so in love with this shop I found myself having to pull off the highway to get just one more taste before leaving the state and heading back home. After stocking up my cooler full of cold-pressed juices for the trip home, I was intrigued by the many smoothie options. I picked one with blueberries and oatmeal. I don’t remember the exact name or ingredients, but this is my rendition of it, and I’ve been drinking it for breakfast ever since that trip!

  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup of blueberries
  • 4 strawberries
  • Handful of spinach
  • 1/2 banana
  • 4 tbl of oatmeal
  • 2 tbl of Almondbutter or 1/8 cup of raw almonds
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 1 cup of ice

Blend together in a high powered blender and enjoy!
